Day 1: Ratnapura / Yala-National-Park
From
Negombo we are going to
Ratnapura. The city itself is not very interesting but the way to there is more than exciting. You can visit in
Ratnapura the gem-museum.
Nowhere you will get more informations about the little stones from Sri Lanka or anywhere in the world. They show you how to treat the stones and how the stones get their character.
Closed to the national park you can take your lunch.
From there you will go the
Yala-National-Park. In the afternoon you will have a Jeepsafari and you will see the life of the animals there. You will find a lot of wild animals like, crocodiles, different snakes, elephants, leopards, wild sows, aso.
Overnight stay in Yala.
Day 2: Kataragama / Unawatuna / Hikkaduwa
After the breakfast you will go to one of the holiest places in Sri Lanka, to
Kataragama. In this temple all religions are coming together for praying.
From their you will take the way on the coast and you will pass a lot of nice villages.
The first stop you make in
Matara. There you will go again in a temple but this time you will be surprised by the 40 m high Buddha Statue.
You are going to
Unawatuna, one of the most nice beaches in Sri Lanka. Their you can go for swimming (swimming-clothes and sun-protection don t forget!). In Unawatuna you can take your lunch.
From
Unawatuna you are going to
Galle where you will visit the old city (Dutch fort) and your feelings will go back to the colonials time. Most of the buildings are still there from the colonial time.
Than you go to
Hikkaduwa. Here you will visit the turtle-farm. They will show you one day old turtles and many other kinds.
After two long and hard days we are going back to your hotel.
